Based on a survey examining the willingness of students, faculty, and staff at UNC Asheville to pay for eco-friendly products. The survey was designed on the basis of a literature review of the contingent valuation method and the questions asked on the survey help determine the factors that influence an individual’s willingness to pay for eco-friendly products, such as exposure to residence life education, income, and knowledge of products. The intuition behind gathering this data is educating the campus about the importance of eco-friendly products. I plan on using the information gathered to make recommendations to the University, specifically for Chartwells, the University bookstore, and Residential Education and Housing Operations, on what types of products students, faculty, and staff want on campus.
