This presentation will detail the growing prevalence of human trafficking on both a national and a state level. It will focus on specific aspects of human trafficking such as awareness, prevention and rehabilitation. According to recent statistics, North Carolina ranks tenth in the nation for human trafficking occurrence. Sources and survivors from Charlotte, Asheville and the surrounding counties, and states, speak about the many forms of bondage human trafficking encompasses, such as substance abuse, addiction, domestic violence and sexual assault. In conclusion, research shows that human trafficking can be prevented and everyone plays a part in that daily prevention campaign.
